We understand the intricate details and technical requirements of these sophisticated systems, which means our labour is minimised, your profit margin is increased whilst getting your customer back on the road quickly.

Common Faults and Our Solutions
We frequently encounter issues where the Front Facing Camera stops functioning properly. This malfunction can lead to the disruption of critical systems such as radar cruise control, front avoidance systems, and associated lighting. Often, these problems stem from failures in the image processing unit.

Our approach to resolving these issues involves a comprehensive process:

  1. Diagnosis and Repair: We pinpoint the exact cause of the malfunction and proceed with precise repairs to the FFC and its components.
  2. Reinitialisation and Calibration: Post-repair, we ensure the system is reinitialised to factory settings. Proper calibration is critical for the accurate functioning of radar or collision avoidance systems.
  3. Reinstallation and Testing: The final step involves reinstalling the system and rigorously testing it to confirm that all features are operational and meet the safety standards.

ADAS Faqs

When would ADAS calibration be required?

The need for calibration will be different from vehicle to vehicle, however the most common reasons we get contacted for ADAS calibration includes smash repairs, windscreen replacement, wheel alignments or certain suspension repairs or upgrades, as well as various aftermarket modifications will require ADAS calibration. Repairs that require the front bumper to be removed such as condenser or radiator replacements will also require ADAS calibration.

Windscreen replacement, various body work repairs, and side mirror replacement all require calibrations as well, as each of these areas involve cameras etc that if not calibrated will not work as intended.

No, and it doesn’t make much business sense for a general workshop either. The various equipment needed is prohibitively expensive, as are the various software suites and subscriptions, not to mention the training and qualifications needed to be able to calibrate thousands of vehicles with all the ADAS componentry. Imagine how you would sublet out auto electrical or smash repair work, you can do the same with ADAS MOBILE SOLUTIONS.

As a rule, if the vehicle was manufactured after 2012 then the vehicle would almost definitely be fitted with Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, or Lane Assist to mention just a few systems.

It will depend on the modification carried out. If the vehicle has an upgraded intake filter, you’re probably going to be fine. However, if you or your customer has changed the ride height by fitting lowering springs or Coilover shocks, then this will most definitely have a negative effect on the vehicle’s ADAS. If you’re ever unsure, simply reach out to ADAS MOBILE SOLUTIONS for clarification.

It will depend on the issue at hand, and there are dozens of issues that won’t even show a warning light in the instrument cluster. There is no warning light for radar to be out of alignment after fitting a new bar or after a small impact. But that won’t change the fact that the radar is indeed out of alignment and not working properly.

We often are called out to workshops to perform a calibration even when no warning light is lit, or when the warning systems only work intermittently. If you’re unsure if your customer’s vehicle requires an ADAS calibration, give us a call on 0428 GO ADAS and we’ll be happy to advise.

How our calibration process works

We use an entire suite of specialised ADAS Calibration equipment, software, and tooling that allows us to carry out OEM-spec calibration and repair of the following systems for any light vehicle in your workshop:

1 – SETUP CHECK
We review your emailed checklist to ensure certain tasks are met. E.g. That a 4-wheel alignment has been carried out to ensure calibration accuracy for a specific issue.

2 – INITIAL SCAN
This process identifies any fault codes related to any Autonomous Driver Assistance System to aid in our diagnosis and subsequent calibration(s).

3 – CALIBRATION
Using a combination of cameras, radars and lidars and proprietary software we begin the calibration process.

4 – ROAD TEST
We then road test the vehicle to check the ADAS systems are operating and functioning as intended.

5 – FINAL SCAN
We run a final diagnostic scan on the vehicle back at your workshop to ensure that no fault codes have appeared during the road test.

6 – REPORT AND HAND OVER
We email you a comprehensive ADAS MOBILE SOLUTIONS report along with a dated certificate of calibration. This report is emailed for ease in including it with your final bill to your customer and for your records for tax purposes.
